India, Janmashtami is celebrated 8 days after full Moon day of Hindu month
Bhadrapada, which comes around August and September.
Ashtami Rohini: 17 August 2014 in Kerala.
Dahi Handi & Gopalkala: 17 August 2014 in Maharashtra. During this celebration,
huge human pyramids are made to reach the pot hanging at height and break it.

South India is celebrated for 8 days after the full Moon in the month of
Shravan, which also falls in between the months of August and September
